The South Eastern Health Board's proposals for a new fuel scheme were received in my Department on 25 September and the board were informed by letter of 28 September that additional funds could not be provided for a new scheme of this nature in the current year. They were asked to continue to provide heating assistance in their area under their present arrangements and to effect whatever improvements were possible within their existing allocation.
