Vol. 317 No. 4

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

325.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reasons for the delay in providing telephone service for a family (details supplied) in Dublin who applied five years ago and when it is hoped to meet this application.

Provision of services for this applicant is dependent on underground cabling schemes. These are expected to be completed in the second half of next year. Service will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary cables become available.

326.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reasons telephone service has not been provided for a company (name supplied) in Dublin in view of the danger posed to employment by lack of this service.

It is not, it is regretted, possible to provide service pending completion of cabling and ducting work. The work will, it is expected, be completed within the next four months.
