Vol. 317 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tralee Regional Technical College.

486.

andMr. Horgan asked the Minister for Education when approval will be given for the final phase of the premises for the Tralee Regional Technical College; the reason for the delay in granting such approval; if he is aware that an accommodation problem exists which will restrict development of the college; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Preliminary discussions between officers of the Town of Tralee Vocational Education Committee and officers of my Department have already taken place and a further such discussion has been arranged for 6 December. The purpose of these discussions is to enable the nature and extent of the accommodation which will be provided in the proposed new building to be determined.

When a decision has been made on this aspect of the matter, approval for the drawing up of outline sketch plans may be given by my Department.

In addition, I, myself, have arranged to meet a deputation from the Town of Tralee Vocational Education Committee on 17 December 1979.
