Vol. 318 No. 3

Written Answers. - Lismore (Waterford) District Hospital.

409.

asked the Minister for Health when it is proposed to sanction the appointment of additional staff to enable extra beds to be provided in Lismore District Hospital, Waterford, as recommended by the South Eastern Health Board.

The South-Eastern Health Board have the question of the provision of geriatric inpatient accommodation in their area under consideration, including the position in Lismore.

I understand that the board will shortly be considering a report in the matter. I will carefully consider any proposals which I receive from the board regarding Lismore Hospital following their examination of the position but I should point out that the report prepared for the board did not favour the addition of extra beds or extra staff in Lismore.
