Vol. 318 No. 5

Written Answers. - Longford Drainage.

324.

andMr. L'Estrange asked the Minister for Finance if significant improvements in the drainage of the Camlin catchment in Longford could be brought about by improvements at Termonbarry Lock and, if so, if these adjustments will be carried out.

There are no adjustments which could be undertaken at Tarmonbarry Lock which would achieve an improvement in the drainage of the Camlin catchment.

The solution to this problem lies in a comprehensive drainage scheme for the Camlin River catchment area and while this, along with many other tributaries, is listed for attention it must await a solution to the overall Shannon flood problem.
