asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding the request by Dungarvan Urban District Council for financial aid to improve the present water supply system in view of the excellent prospects of new industry on the 70 acre IDA site there which could be jeopardised if such supply is not made available.

Contract documents for the development of the Dungarvan water supply improvement scheme source were received in my Department on 4 February 1980 and are under consideration. The question of finance will not arise until the scheme has been fully approved.

asked the Minister for the Environment when work will commence on the Glenamaddy-Dunmore regional water scheme, County Galway.

I have approved the tender for the civil works contract of the Dunmore/Glenamaddy water supply scheme. The recommended tender for the pumping plant contract is at present under examination in my Department. I am not yet in a position to say when work on the scheme is likely to commence.
