Vol. 319 No. 10

Written Answers. - Health Boards Capital Allocations.

188.

asked the Minister for Health the capital allocation for (a) major, and (b) minor works available to the Eastern Health Board for 1980.

The capital allocation to the Eastern Health Board to meet expenditure on approved major projects in 1980 will be approximately £1 million. This figure relates solely to the Eastern Health Board and does not include sums related to the voluntary hospitals and other hospital boards, which will total £8.4 million.

In view of the constraints on public expenditure, allocations for minor capital works are not being made to health boards this year.

189.

asked the Minister for Health the capital allocation for (a) major and (b) minor works available to the Southern Health Board for 1980.

The capital allocation to the Southern Health Board in 1980 to meet expenditure on approved major projects will be approximately £3.0 million. In addition it is estimated that £1.6 million will be paid to the Cork Hospitals Board in respect of capital expenditure on the Cork Regional Hospital which is being administered by the health board.

In view of the constraints on public expenditure, allocations for minor capital works are not being made to health boards this year.
