Vol. 325 No. 1

Written Answers. - Examination Fee Tax Deduction.

328.

asked the Minister for Education the reason why £10.97 income tax was stopped from the £30 fee paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin for supervising exams; if the amount will now be reimbursed immediately and if he will make a statement on the matter.

From inquiries made, it would appear that the person in respect of whom details were supplied was employed in Ballyfermot senior college to superintend a number of my Department's technical school examinations in May last. As she was employed and remunerated by the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee my Department have no function in the matter of deduction of income tax from the fee payable for the duties discharged.
