asked the Minister for Labour if any proposals to amend the current Employment Regulations Order for agricultural workers have been recommended for approval under the Industrial Regulations Act; and, if so, the proposed weekly rate of pay and number of paid holidays.
Written Answers. - Pay of Agricultural Workers.
At its meeting on 2 October 1980, the Joint Labour Committee for Agricultural Workers agreed to submit to the Labour Court proposals which would amend the current Employment Regulation Order so as to apply the terms provided for in the National Understanding, 1980, to agricultural workers. The proposals were published on 4 November 1980, and the statutory 21 days were allowed for receipt of objections. On 27 November 1980, the Committee considered the objections to the proposals and decided to submit the unamended proposals to the Labour Court for approval. It is expected that the court will consider the proposals in the near future.
