Vol. 325 No. 5

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Postal Service.

374.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason there is no postal service to the Glenfield estate in the parish of Rowlagh, Clondalkin, Dublin; how soon a postal service will be commenced; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Glenfield estate, in which houses have been occupied only comparatively recently, was formerly known as Rowlagh and the houses were numbered similarly to those in the slightly older estate at Clondalkin also known as Rowlagh. Because the addresses were indistinguishable it was not possible to provide a postal delivery service to the new estate and the residents there had to collect their post, when it could be identified, at Clondalkin delivery office. Dublin County Council recently named the estate "Glenfield" and introduced a separate numbering scheme which has made it possible to commence delivery of letters bearing the new addresses.
