Vol. 326 No. 4

Written Answers. - Post Office Receipt Shortfall.

254.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs how much of the £66 million shortfall in estimated receipts in 1980 from post office charges resulted from unpaid post office charges by Government Departments.

Accounts totalling £415,000 which had been issued to Government Departments were unpaid on 31 December 1980. Accounts totalling £376,000 due to be issued in 1980 were not issued until 1981 as it was not possible to bring the issue of telephone and telex bills up to date by the end of 1980.
