asked the Minister for Education if he has (a) received and (b) approved any applications for new private secondary schools in the Dublin area since 31st January, 1979; the number of such applications; the name, address and projected size of each school for which he has given approval; and the date of approval in each case.

Four applications for the recognition of schools in accordance with the rules for secondary schools in the Dublin area have been received since 31 January 1979. The following two applications have been approved:

(i) A boy's school for 400 pupils at Beaumont, approved on the 13 February 1981.

(ii) A girl's school for 550 pupils at Swords, approved on the 13 February 1981.
