(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that Monaghan County Council have no funds to pay housing loans and that as a result a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan is being deprived of a housing loan to which he is entitled; and if he will make funds available to the council so that the loan will be paid.

I am not so aware. An instalment of £270,000 to finance the council's loans scheme was issued from the Local Loans Fund on 16 January 1981, and a further instalment of £195,000 was issued on 13 February 1981.
I am informed by Monaghan County Council that no application for a house-purchase loan has been submitted to them by the person named by the Deputy.
