(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment when the last report under the Alkali Works Regulation Act, 1906, was laid by him before the Houses of the Oireachtas.

The last such report, that for the year ended 31 December 1975, was laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas on 6 September 1976. Arrangements are being made for the outstanding reports to be completed and laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas as soon as possible. I might add that inspections under the Act have continued to be carried out.
