Vol. 327 No. 7

Written Answers. - Kerry National Schools.

357.

asked the Minister for Education the proposals he has to replace the existing national school at Barraduff in the parish of Glenflesk, County Kerry, which is in a very bad state of repair and unsuitable for use as a school.

It is proposed to build a new school at Barraduff. Certain sites offered by the Reverend Chairman were considered unsuitable by the Commissioners of Public Works. I understand that the chairman's architect has been in correspondence with the commissioners regarding the question of the acceptance of another site, subject to drainage works being carried out.

358.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed new national school at Raheen in the parish of Glenflesk, County Kerry.

The site offered by the Reverend Chairman of the board of management is too small to accommodate the size school proposed for Raheen. It has, therefore, been necessary for the school authorities to seek an extension to the site. The further proposal of the school authorities in this connection is awaited.
