Vol. 327 No. 8

Written Answers. - Disabled Boy's Education.

310.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in County Cavan wishes to obtain suitable education for his nine-year-old son who is deaf and dumb and that he has failed to find a suitable school over a period of nearly two years; and if he will investigate the case with a view to providing proper educational facilities for the boy.

My Department have advised the parent in question on several occasions of the arrangements which it is possible to make for the provision of suitable education for his son. I am satisfied that it would be in the best interest of the pupil that such advice should be accepted.
