Vol. 328 No. 3

Written Answers. - Waterford RTC.

384.

asked the Minister for Education the possible cost of building and equipping a regional technical college on the lines of the original college built in Waterford: and if he will give a breakdown of the cost as between site costs and the servicing of the site, building and equipment.

The cost of building and equipping a regional technical college similar to the original Waterford Regional Technical College is estimated at £3.75 million, approximately in current cost terms as follows: Building, £2,400,000 approx.; Furniture and Equipment, £1,050,000 approx. Site Development Costs, £300,000 approx. As site costs vary depending on the location of the site it would not be possible to give an exact figure for the cost of a site. It must also be emphasised that the estimates of cost as given, particularly those relating to site development costs, are tentative.
