Vol. 330 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Corporation Planning Department.

476.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether the report of the investigation into alleged malpractice in the planning department of Dún Laoghaire Corporation has been received by his Department; if not, when it is expected; whether he intends to publish the report; and whether, in view of the widespread public concern, he will now authorise a public inquiry into all aspects of planning in Dún Laoghaire.

As indicated in reply to Question No. 342 of 9 April 1981, the Dublin city and county manager was directed on 1 December 1980, to carry out and report on an investigation into the administration of the planning code in the Borough of Dún Laoghaire. The manager furnished an interim report on 20 January 1981 and a further report on 6 July 1981. The matter is now the subject of correspondence between my Department and the manager with a view to ensuring the completeness of the investigation. This process is in line with established practice and, until it is completed, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
