asked the Minister for Labour the number of young persons to be trained by AnCO in 1981; and the estimated cost of this training.

AnCO expect to train 13,900 young persons, under 25 years of age, in 1981 as a total estimated cost of £30 million, part of which is financed by the European Social Fund.

asked the Minister for Labour the estimated expenditure to date by AnCO in connection with the youth training projects; the number of young people participating; and the average duration of such participation.

Some 2,000 young people, under 25 years of age, have participated in AnCO's Community Youth Training Programme to date in 1981. The estimated expenditure on the programmes was £3,125,000, part of which is financed by the European Social Fund. The average duration of participation in the programme has been 16 to 20 weeks.
