Vol. 330 No. 13

Written Answers. - National Schools.

611.

asked the Minister for Education if there are any proposals for an extension to Boher national school, Ballycumber, County Offaly.

No proposals for an extension to Boher national school, Ballycumber, County Offaly have been received in my Department. However, I am having the possible need for additional accommodation investigated.

612.

asked the Minister for Education the reasons for the delay in the provision of additional accommodation at Ballina national school; and when work will commence on this project.

Working drawings and specifications for the proposed extension to Ballina national school, County Tipperary, have been prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works.

Satisfactory title to the site extension has not yet been established and when this matter has been resolved, the project may proceed to the stage of invitation of tenders.

It is understood that the chairman's solicitor lodged a deed of transfer for the site extension in the Land Registry in August 1981. The Chief State Solicitor will be in communication with the Department, once satisfactory title to the site extension has been established. As soon as the title is confirmed as satisfactory, the Department will be in a position to allow the scheme to proceed to tender.

613.

asked the Minister for Education when he will be in a position to seek tenders for a new national school at Templetuohy, Thurles, County Tipperary.

My Department authorised the Commissioners of Public Works on 9 March 1981, to proceed to the invitation of tenders for the proposed new national school at Templetuohy, County Tipperary. I understand from the commissioners that the contract documents were completed recently and that they expect to be in a position to invite tenders at an early date.
