Vol. 333 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Cork Mentally Handicapped Workshop.

241.

asked the Minister for Health if it is his intention to allocate a grant for the erection of a workshop in Mallow, County Cork for the mentally handicapped; if so, if he will specify the amount of money he intends to allocate to this project; and when the money will be made available.

The feasibility of a proposal by the Mallow and District Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Handicapped Children to set up a workshop for the mentally handicapped is still being examined by the Southern Health Board in consultation with the National Rehabilitation Board.

If the need for such a workshop is established, the question of capital grant assistance will be considered as sympathetically as possible in the light of the total capital resources available to me for new building projects.
