Vol. 334 No. 7

Written Answers. - Rheumatoid Arthritis.

808.

asked the Minister for Health if he will now agree to include rheumatoid arthritis as one of those categories which automatically qualifies for a general medical service card; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Since a medical card is provided primarily on grounds of means, I presume the question relates to the inclusion of rheumatoid arthritis in the long-term illness scheme. Though this scheme is reviewed from time to time I regret that it is not possible to extend it at present.
