A grant cannot be paid in this case as the applicant has indicated that, contrary to qualifying conditions of the solid fuel grants scheme, (1) the work commenced before 1 June 1979; (2) the house already had a solid fuel burning appliance which provided a domestic hot water supply; (3) the house which was the subject of the grant application was less than 12 months completed at the time of the commencement of the relevant solid fuel installation. The applicant was informed accordingly in August 1980.
