Vol. 337 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

391.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make arrangements to have a new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in Belmont, County Offaly.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of a new house grant application from the person named.

392.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Foulkmills, County Wexford.

On receipt of notification of completion of work an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the water and sewerage grant.

A grant for the proposed bedroom and bathroom cannot be allowed because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. A chimney grant does not apply in this case as the house in question has an existing chimney.

393.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant under the old scheme was not paid to a person (details supplied) in Athleague, County Roscommon.

Under the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), the latest date for the completion of work and receipt in my Department of claims for payment was 30 June, 1981.

As this statutory requirement was not complied with in this case a grant cannot be paid.

Questions Nos. 394 to 396, inclusive, postponed.
