: My Department have no proposals for the extension of Ashford National School, County Limerick. Proposals for improvements to the school are under consideration and I understand that the Commissioners of Public Works expect to furnish a report and recommendation to my Department at an early date.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the erection of an educational post-primary complex in Newcastlewest, County Limerick.
: The Department have agreed to the amalgamation of Scoil Ide and Scoil Mhuire Secondary Schools, Newcastlewest, County Limerick. Approval has been given for the erection of a new replacement school to cater for an overall enrolment of 550 pupils. A suggested schedule of accommodation for the new school will shortly be issued to the school managers for their consideration. When agreement has been reached on the schedule of accommodation, arrangements will be made for a meeting in the Department to initiate architectural planning of the new school.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the erection of a post-primary educational complex in Rathkeale, County Limerick.
: A request for a new community school in Rathkeale to replace the two existing post-primary schools is being considered by my Department. A decision will be made in the matter as soon as possible.

: The present position is that working drawings for the vocational school in Croom have been approved by the Department and authority has been given to proceed to the final stage of planning, that is, preparation of bills of quantities.
