Vol. 343 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Cork School.

689.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works has decided to purchase the site offered by the school manager at Leamlara, County Cork or to erect the school on the existing site.

As the site extension offered by the manager of Leamlara national school, County Cork is unsuitable for building it has been decided that the proposed new school should be erected on a site of the existing school. The site extension could only be used as an open area for the children and the manager of the school may wish to purchase it for this purpose. The purchase of sites is a matter for the school authorities not for the Office of Public Works.

The Office of Public Works have made a report to the Department of Education and await their directions as to the commencement of the preparation of sketch plans for the project.
