andMr. L.T. Cosgrave asked the Minister for the Environment (a) the number of planning appeals disposed of by the Minister in 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, and An Bord Pleanála in 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982; (b) the number of staff his Department have employed in relation to this; and (c) the number of staff An Bord Pleanála have employed.

The change to the calendar year occurred in 1975. As from 15 March 1977, An Bord Pleanála assumed responsibility for dealing with planning appeals. With the exception of a chief officer, staff serving An Bord Pleanála are still provided by the Minister for the Environment.
