My Department have only one office in Galway — a meteorological station — which is mainly staffed by Departmental grades. At present there are no applications for transfer to this station.
Six officers employed in my Department, who are in general service grades, have applied for transfer to other Government offices in County Galway and their applications have been forwarded to all Government Departments with offices in this area. Those at the top of the list have been waiting approximately three years for a transfer.
