Vol. 344 No. 7

Written Answers. - Offaly Factory Inspection.

730.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will arrange to have the factory of a firm (details supplied) in County Offaly visited by a factory inspector with a view to examining all aspects of the safety of employees.

There is an industrial dispute at present in the firm concerned and it is the normal policy of the Industrial Inspectorate of my Department not to carry out inspections while such a dispute is in progress. If, however, evidence is provided that there are specific dangerous practices in operation in the firm's premises consideration will be given to an urgent special inspection.
