Vol. 344 No. 9

Written Answers. - Hospital Equipment.

535.

asked the Minister for Health if all equipment, bed linen, towels, etc. purchased by the Eastern Health Board for distribution to the various institutions are Irish made.

Where possible the Eastern Health Board purchase their requirements from contractors whose names are on the list of official contractors prepared by the combined purchasing section of the department of the Environment. Most items on the combined purchasing list are manufactured in Ireland. In purchasing items which are not on the combined purchasing list the board support Irish manufacturers wherever possible.
