asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of farmers who have received their headage grants and other subsidies for 1983; and when it is expected that the remainder will be paid.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give details of all the individual livestock schemes being administered by his Department; the number of applications received under each scheme in 1982; the number of farmers sanctioned under each scheme in 1982; the number of farmers who received their cheques under each scheme in 1982; the number of farmers who were not paid their 1982 cheques until 1983; the number of applications received under each scheme in 1983; the number of farmers sanctioned under each scheme in 1983; the number of farmers paid their cheques in 1983 and the number of farmers still to be paid their 1983 cheques; the amount of money paid under each individual scheme in 1982; the amount of money paid under each scheme in 1983; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 386 to 387 together.

The livestock grant schemes being administered by my Department are the sheep headage, cattle headage and beef cow schemes in the disadvantaged areas, the EEC suckler cow, calf and ewe premium schemes and the calved heifer scheme.

In regard to the sheep, cattle and beef cow headage, the ewe premium and the calved heifer schemes, it is expected that the outstanding 1983 applications will, with the exception of cases under query, be paid by mid-February. Calf premium payments will continue until the end of March while suckler cow premium payments will be made in April after the expiration of the six months retention period specified in that scheme.

The detailed information sought in relation to 1982 and 1983 applications and payments is given in tabular form below:

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons that the standard grants have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway for two TB reactors disposed of over three months ago; the date on which he will be paid; the amount; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A grant payment for £400 in respect of two reactors slaughtered on 8 November has been made to this herdowner.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a calf heifer grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway, the date on which it will be paid; the amount that will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named will be paid a grant of £210 under the 1983 calved heifer scheme as soon as the batch which includes his payment is processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons a ewe and ewe hogget premium scheme grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which he will be paid; the amount; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named will be paid £875.75 in respect of EEC ewe premium and £95 in respect of sheep headage grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes as soon as the batches which include his payments are processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons a 1982 calf subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the reason his calves were not punched in 1983 despite the fact that he made an application; the dates on which these two matters will be attended to; the amount and the date on which the grant will be paid, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are unable to trace receipt of an application from the person named for calf premium on calves born in 1982.

392.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when headage payments will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named has been paid cattle headage grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes already with the exception of a small balance payment of which will be made shortly.
