asked the Minister for Finance the amount of funds in 1983 allocated from the European Development Fund to each of the Border counties, that is Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Louth and Monaghan under the Irish Telecommunications Programme.

Funds received from the European Regional Development Fund in respect of the Irish Telecommunications Programme are used to increase the overall level of resources available for capital development through the Public Capital Programme and are not allocated to individual projects.

In 1983 IR£10 million of receipts from the European Regional Development Fund was applied to increase the overall level of resources available for telecommunications development.

Funds received from the European Regional Development Fund in respect of expenditure on Irish roads are used to increase the overall level of resources available for capital development through the Public Capital Programme and are not allocated to individual projects. From the amounts received from the European Regional Development Fund in 1983 £16 million was applied to increase the overall level of resources available for road development.

Funds received from the European Regional Development Fund in respect of expenditure on Irish Water and Sewerage Schemes are used to increase the overall level of resources available for capital development through the Public Capital Programme and are not allocated to individual projects.

In 1983 IR£15 million of receipts from the European Regional Development Fund was applied to increase the overall level of resources available for water supply and sewerage schemes.
