Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Livestock Grants Eligibility.

282.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will increase the off-farm income eligibility level from £3,500 to its original figure of £5,000 on all future grant applications; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Because of budgetary constraints it is not possible to increase the off-farm income eligibility level for livestock headage grants in the disadvantaged areas. Any such increase would have to be at the expense of full time farm families wholly or mainly dependent on farming for their livelihoods.
