Vol. 355 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ballinderry (Westmeath) Hospital.

395.

asked the Minister for Health if he intends to increase the subvention to the Sacred Heart Home, Ballinderry, County Westmeath, for maintenance of patients.

The Sacred Heart Home, Ballinderry, is included in the list of private nursing homes which qualify for a subvention payable by the health board towards the cost of services. The subvention rate — £5.65 a day — was last increased with effect from 1 July 1984. The next adjustment will apply as from 1 July 1985. The revised rate will be announced well in advance of the applicable date. As regards the payment by the health board for services provided on their behalf in the Sacred Heart Hospital, the question of increasing the present rate of £32 a day will be considered in the course of the year in accordance with normal practice.
