Vol. 355 No. 7

Written Answers. - Industrial Development.

414.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he will give details of the efforts made by the SFADCo or the IDA in finding suitable tenants for the two advance factories at Kilmallock, County Limerick; and if he is aware of the high unemployment rate in the area.

I am aware of the unemployment rate in the Kilmallock area. Both the Industrial Development Authority and Shannon Development are vigorously promoting the area as an attractive location for suitable domestic and overseas projects. The two advance factories referred to by the Deputy are being actively marketed as part of the IDA's efforts to have further job creating industry located in the area.

415.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism the number of new industries set up in each IDA region in 1984.
