Vol. 355 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Cork Health Centre.

507.

asked the Minister for Health when it is proposed to open the new health centre for the Knocknaheeney/Hollyhill area in County Cork; if he will give a list of services which will be available to the public there; and the number of permanent and part time staff work there.

The Southern Health Board expect to open the new health centre for the Knocknaheeney/Hollyhill area in County Cork next month. The services to be provided from the centre initially include child health, immunisation, public health nursing, dental, psychiatric, psychological assessment, blood pressure testing and community welfare officer. The board have plans to provide, at a later stage, such services as social worker, community worker, speech therapy, chiropody and orthoptics.

It is expected that a team of approximately 20 staff — permanent and part time — including visiting and sessional staff will operate from the health centre.
