Vol. 356 No. 7

Written Answers. - Educational Grant.

646.

asked the Minister for Education if her Department will make a grant available to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13 who is anxious to take a course in chiropody in the north of England; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

In accordance with the provisions of the higher education grants scheme and the vocational education committees' scholarships scheme, financial assistance is made available only to students pursuing approved courses of third level education in Ireland.

Apart from the funds provided specifically for the purpose of the above mentioned schemes, there are no moneys at the disposal of my Department out of which assistance could be made available for the purpose in question.
