Vol. 357 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payment.

512.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite approval of a home improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

The application made in this case was for the installation of water and sewerage facilities, the building of a chimney, the provision of a bathroom and bedroom and the carrying out of major necessary repairs to the fabric of the house. A grant cannot be allowed for the installation of a water supply as this work is being grant aided as part of a group water scheme. Grants cannot be allowed for the bathroom, sewerage, and chimney aspects of the application because these facilities are already in existence in the house. Maximum grants totalling £1,000 have been approved in respect of the bedroom extension and repair work.

513.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a mortgage subsidy will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid on 11 March 1985.

514.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in having a £1,000 new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as his Department have been notified that all works have been completed.

There has been no delay in dealing with this case. The applicant was not at home when an inspector called recently and a further inspection by appointment will be carried out as soon as possible.

515.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the remainder of a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and the reason for the delay in payment.

The final instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid to the person named on 6 February 1985. There was no undue delay in dealing with the matter.
