Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

524.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the new £5,000 grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Cork who surrendered the tenancy of their house to Cork Corporation.

Arrangements are being made to pay this grant as soon as possible.

525.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve the home improvement grant application made by persons (details supplied) in County Offaly.

A grant cannot be allowed in the case because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed.

526.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

My Department's inspector called to this house in November 1984 and reported that there was no permanent connection of electricity to the house. It is noted from the Deputy's question that a permanent connection has since been made. In view of this information a final inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out as quickly as possible.

527.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite an inspection for a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

The file in this case has been referred for final inspection with a view to payment of the grant. My Department's inspector has been asked to carry out the inspection as soon as possible. Apart from the inspection the submission of Part B of Form SL4 (Tax Certificate) duly completed will be necessary in this case before the payment of the grant can be considered.

528.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

My Department is awaiting the submission of evidence of planning permission, which has been requested from the applicant, to enable a grant to be approved. Accordingly, the question of payment does not arise at this stage.

529.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

An application for a new house grant in this case was refused because the floor area of the house is in excess of the maximum allowable, i.e. 125 sq. m. (1346 sq. ft.).
