Vol. 357 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Galway Water Schemes.

530.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will have approval issued as soon as possible for a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Galway; and when he hopes to have this approval issued.

The question of a special contribution for this scheme is at present being examined. There will be no avoidable delay in finalising the matter and I expect to be in a position to issue a decision on the scheme in the near future.

531.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position with regard to an application made by Galway County Council for approval for an extension of the mid-Galway general water scheme (details supplied) to enable the development of group schemes in the area.

Galway County Council's application for approval to the preparation of contract documents for zone 4 of the mid-Galway regional water supply scheme, which includes the Claregalway to Loughgeorge section, was received in my Department on 21 March 1985 and is under examination at present. I cannot say at this stage when a decision on the application will issue to the local authority.
