Vol. 358 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Board Dental Services.

611.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the serious deterioration in the level of dental services available in each health board; if he has any plans to ensure that an adequate level of service is provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not aware of any serious deterioration in the level of the dental service provided by the health boards for eligible children. In recent years some health boards have cut back on the level of the dental services provided for eligible adults in order to achieve economies. The allocation of the funds available to it between the various services it provides is a matter for the individual health board.
