Vol. 358 No. 10

Written Answers. - Control of Clinical Trials.

545.

asked the Minister for Health when he intends to introduce legislation to deal with drug testing and trials.

The Government has now approved the heads and general scheme of a Bill to control clinical trials. As the Deputy is aware, I am very concerned that these trials should be subject to statutory control and I have asked that arrangements be made for the drafting of the text of the Bill as a matter of urgency so that the measure may be introduced at the earliest possible date.
