Vol. 358 No. 10

Written Answers. - Richmond Hospital (Dublin) Board.

546.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the board of the Richmond Hospital is not functioning and that an ad hoc group is now taking decisions without the authority of the board; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Board of Governors of Saint Laurence's Hospital is functioning and has held a meeting as recently as last Tuesday, 21 May. The board has delegated authority for the day-to-day management of the hospital to its Finance-Executive Committee. The activities of this committee in 1984 were reviewed by the board at its meeting on 10 January 1985 and it was agreed that the committee would continue to act in an executive capacity for the board in 1985. The Board of Governors has the power under the Saint Laurence's Hospital Act, 1943, to regulate the procedure and business of the board.
