asked the Minister for Justice if a person (details supplied) will be permitted to visit a prisoner (details supplied) in Portlaoise Prison; and, if not, the reasons.

Limerick East): The person referred to in the Deputy's question will not be permitted to visit the prisoner mentioned. A visit was applied for some time ago but in the opinion of the prison authorities the applicant did not qualify for a visit under the terms of the statutory rules for the Government of Prisons, 1947. The application was consequently refused.
