Vol. 361 No. 2

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher.

32.

asked the Minister for Education, in view of the serious problems that have arisen since the withdrawal of a remedial teacher from Our Lady of Consolation girls' primary school, Donnycarney, Dublin 5, if she will restore the appointment for the benefit of the large number of pupils attending the school who require very special attention.

Applications of schools for remedial teaching posts are processed by my Department's inspectorate and available posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of need. Our Lady of Consolation girls' primary school, Donnycarney, Dublin 5, has a remedial teaching post and teacher since March 1969.

The application of Our Lady of Consolation infant national school, Donnycarney, Dublin 5, for a remedial teaching post is currently being considered in the context of the priority of need in schools generally and the availability of such posts in the current school year.
