Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Manpower Service.

215.

asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware of the need for the attendance of a national manpower service officer on one day a week in Rathdowney, County Laois as the people in this town have to travel over 24 miles to the nearest national manpower service office; if he will consider allowing a national manpower service officer to attend in Rathdowney at least once a week and if he will outline the position herein.

At present a placement officer from the National Manpower Service operates from the employment exchange in Rathdowney twice a month. In the context of development of the National Manpower Service, I am, however, considering the provision of a clinic in the town on a twice-monthly basis.
