Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - Offaly Sewerage Scheme.

79.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a contractor has been appointed for the provision of a sewerage scheme at Cloneygowan, County Offaly, if tenders have been accepted; if so, when he expects the work to commence on this scheme; and the contract price for the provision of this sewerage scheme.

On 22 November 1985 I approved the acceptance by Offaly County Council of the tender submitted by Messrs. Culkin (Civil Engineering) Limited, Cullionbeg, Mullingar, County Westmeath, in the sum of £247,144.78 (including VAT) for the civil works contract of the Cloneygowan sewerage scheme, County Offaly.

On 6 June I approved the acceptance by the council of tenders to undertake the mechanical and electric plant (£22,102.50 and VAT) and the pumping plant (£6,431.35 and VAT) contracts to serve this scheme. It is now a matter for Offaly County Council to advance this scheme to the construction stage.
