Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - Monaghan Hospital Extension.

123.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make funds available for the provision of the extension to the out-patients department at Monaghan General Hospital.

Following detailed discussions recently and an examination of the site at the General Hospital, Monaghan, by technical officers from my Department it would appear that the limitations of the site are such as to practically exclude any further building at ground level. Consequently I have asked the North Eastern Health Board to carry out a detailed examination of the site and in particular to examine the possibility of making better use of existing accommodation and of building over the existing out-patients/X-ray department. When the findings of this examination come to hand the matter will be considered further.
