Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Drugs Counselling service.

124.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received representations from an organisation (details supplied) in County Dublin, regarding the establishment of a full time drugs counselling service in Tallaght, County Dublin, with trained staff available on a full time basis and accessible drop-in facilities provided so that those seeking help in Tallaght will not have to travel to the city centre on a regular basis at a cost that many cannot afford; if he will agree that such a facility is a special and priority urgent need in Tallaght, having regard to the very high unemployment rate in many parts of Tallaght and when can such a facility be provided.

I have received representations from the organisation in question. The Eastern Health Board is responsible for services for people in Dublin with drug-related problems. I have asked the health board to let me have a report on the matter.
