Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Teaching of European Languages.

14.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the reported proposals of the Curriculum and Examinations Board to reduce the emphasis on modern European languages in the schools' curriculum.

The recent discussion paper, entitled "Language in the curriculum", published by the Curriculum and Examinations Board contains no proposals to reduce the emphasis on modern European languages on the school curriculum.
